Imagine a scenario where you’ve set your alarm system to “away mode” as you leave your home for the day. In this situation, your connected automation system springs into action, detecting the armed status of your alarm and taking proactive measures to enhance your home’s security and energy efficiency. It seamlessly turns off any lights that may have been left on, ensuring that you conserve energy and maintain a secure environment while you’re away.
Similarly, if you’re on vacation or a trip and your alarm system remains armed, your automation system recognizes the absence and adjusts its behavior accordingly. After sunset, it initiates a presence simulation scene, illuminating lights and activating other smart devices to create the illusion of occupancy and deter potential intruders.
Moreover, if you disarm your alarm system but forget to arm it before leaving, your automation system remains vigilant. It monitors the status of windows, doors, and movement within your home. If it detects prolonged inactivity and closed entry points, it sends a prompt to your mobile phone, reminding you to arm the alarm remotely.
Additionally, when you opt for “stay mode” on your alarm system, indicating that you’re indoors, your automation system synchronizes with this setting. It adjusts lighting levels to suit your comfort and security needs, keeping exterior lights on for safety while dimming interior lights to conserve energy and create a cozy atmosphere inside your home.
